The Agriculture Transportation Coalition (AgTC) held its 38th Annual Meeting in Tacoma – the largest annual gathering of U.S. agricultural shippers sourcing and delivering to international markets.

The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA), the Port of Tacoma, SSA Terminals, LLC (SSAT), SSA Terminals (Tacoma), LLC (SSATT), and Puget Soundkeeper have agreed to a final settlement of Puget Soundkeeper Alliance v. Port of Tacoma et al., a federal Clean Water Act citizen suit involving stormwater management at the West Sitcum Terminal in Tacoma.

The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA), Port of Seattle and Port of Tacoma are excited to launch the Northwest Clean Ports website, designed to provide clear, accessible information and track progress on efforts to reduce air and climate emissions from seaport-related operations.

NWSA Breakbulk Volumes up 24% YTD

The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) and Husky Terminal welcomed the inaugural vessel under a revised port rotation of the FP2 service to Tacoma on May 9th, marking a significant opportunity for increased discretionary cargo for the gateway and faster inland service for customers.

NWSA Q1 full exports were up 1.8%, following two months of growth. Full imports declined 18% over a strong Q1 2025 when importers frontloaded cargo ahead of expected tariffs. YTD total container volume (international and domestic)—714,719 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs)—were down 14.2%.

NWSA Full Exports up 2.2% YTD February 2026 total container volume (international and domestic) reached 207,725 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), down 19.4% compared to February 2025, when shippers were frontloading cargo ahead of expected tariffs.

A multimillion-dollar investment at Terminal 5 in Seattle adds refrigerated plugs and doubles gate capacity, strengthening the gateway for agricultural exports and improving regional traffic flow.
